So, you have putting up food, now what? You are storing food for a dark winter but do you have a Food Plan when things go bad? Having a lot of food stored is a good thing but not knowing what to do with it is not. We lay out our plan for using our stored food when things go bad and begin with our first recipe of storage food.

Prepping Preacher Pozole

28oz Can Chicken, Keystone
3 TB Olive Oil
1 Lg Onion, chopped
3 cloves Garlic, minced
½ tsp Oregano
3 tsp Coriander, ground
1 ½ tsp Cumin
½ tsp Chipotle Pepper powder
1 can Green Chilies 4.5 oz
1 can Tomatoes Chopped 14.5 oz
1 can Salsa Verde 7oz.
2 cans Hominy, White 14.5 oz
4 cups Chicken stock

Heat the oil, add the onions cook approximately 5 minutes until translucent.
Add Garlic cook another 2 minutes.
Add all spices and cook for approximately 1 minute.
Add Green Chiles, salsa verde and tomatoes and bring to a boil.
Add Chicken Stock and drained hominy and bring back to a boil.
Turn heat down, let simmer for about 20 minutes.
Add chicken, cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.
Toppings, Sour Cream and shredded cheese.
